I recently had the opportunity to photograph Keely and Ben’s amazing wedding in Lincoln. Keely is my cousin so I was really excited to be there and to have the honour of being her wedding photographer. The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Washingborough Hall, Lincoln.
I started the day photographing Keely and her nine bridesmaids arrive at the venue, there was lots of excitement as the girls continued to get ready. I photographed Ben and his groomsmen before returning to Keely’s room to photograph her in her dress. Emotions ran high as my Uncle, Keely’s dad arrived to see her in her dress for the first time, the bridesmaids were also very emotional! Keely’s flowers had two lockets attached with photographs of her grandparents. Such a lovely idea for those special people who are no longer with us.
A harpist played as Keely’s Dad walked her up the aisle. One of my favourite photographs from the day is of Keely and her Dad looking at each other while Ben nervously waits! The ceremony was topped off by an amazing performance by one of Keely’s maids of honour, Becky.
Following the ceremony, we went outside for a drinks reception. It was great to take the group shots outside with the fantastic gardens in the background. I had to hand over the camera at some points, so I could be in the big family photo! It was also great to have the opportunity to take lots of photographs of my own kids at a wedding. The couple photographs were also shot in the gardens.
The speeches were followed by a hilarious video that had been filmed as a surprise for the couple by their friends and family.
During the evening reception, I managed to take some lovely outside photographs. These are my favourite photos of the day, especially the striking light in the darkness.
The whole day was beautiful, with every little detail planned perfectly. I felt very lucky to be part of it and to be able to capture each part of the day.
