Baltic Wedding Photographer
Last month I photographed a wedding in the Northeast. The couple were from Washington and were getting married at Holy Trinity Church in Washington village. The reception was at The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts.
I arrived at the Grooms parents house to get a few photographs of the groom with his groomsmen and family. When I got there they were all ready and looked very dapper in their navy blue suits.
I then went on to the brides parents house where the bride was getting ready. She had been to get her hair and makeup done. The flower girls were shown their dresses and given a small gift. The bridesmaids got ready, followed by the bride who looked lovely in her vintage lace dress.
The father of the bride had been waiting downstairs as he had not seen the dress. I joined him to photograph everyone’s reactions and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.
I then made my way to the church, Holy Trinity in Washington Village. The traditional church was an ideal location for the vintage style wedding.
After the ceremony, I went onto meet the couple at the Malmaison Hotel on the Newcastle side of the River Tyne, where the couple were staying that evening. This also gave the rest of the wedding party time to get to the Baltic on the Gateshead side. We shot photographs in their honeymoon suite, including several of the couple in the quirky double bath in the middle of the room.
We then took the opportunity to take breathtaking photos with the Millennium Bridge and Baltic Flour Mill in the background. We walked over to the Baltic where the guests were there to greet them. The room was decorated with vintage tin jars and vases. The speeches where really relaxed with everyone stood around. The meal was a barbecue on the terrace overlooking the bridges on the River Tyne. The evening reception was full of dancing and laughter. It was a pleasure to photograph Darryl and Laura’s wedding and I am very happy with the photographs from the day.
